Faith Formation Values

Faith Formation or Religious Education is much more than passing on facts ~ it is about formation. The life of every Catholic, from childhood to adulthood, is about being formed in the image of Christ.  Such a process of formation is always new and never ends!

Religious education classes simply are not enough for formation. Attending Sunday liturgies, daily prayer, conversation about Jesus and reading Scripture is essential. The primary instruction of the Catholic family takes place at the Sunday liturgy.

Living in a world with conflicting values, we need the Eucharist to help us stand firmly with one another in our faith and become the followers of Christ that we are called to by our baptism. The family is the first forum in which the mission of evangelization takes place.  Hence, parents are recognized as having the primary responsibility for training their children in the practice of the faith (Vatican II, The Church in the Modern World.)

Admission
We welcome all children of parishioners into our program for Grades 1-8. Families must be registered in the Parish to attend.

Religious Education Registration 2026-27

Class times and Tuition fees are listed below.  You can mail, fax or email your registration as long as the tuition fee is included. We also have a mail/dropbox on the right side of the of the Parish Center entrance.  Registration forms can also be found on our website www.spnpt.org on the Children’s Faith Formation page.  You must be a registered parishioner.  If you are not, please fill out a parish registration form below.  Any questions, please contact Ellen Steinberg at 631-261-2485 ext. 108 or 110.

 Office hours - Monday–Thursday   9:00-5:00  (closed Fridays)

 Baptismal Certificates:  If you are NEW (1^st Grade) OR TRANSFERRING to our Religious  Education Program and your child was not baptized in St. Philip Neri Church, we need you to provide a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate at the time of registration.  If you are transferring in,  we  also need a transcripts from your previous Religious Education Program showing grades attended and sacraments received.

Teachers and Volunteers -  We are in need of teachers for grades 5-8, so please check the box on the registration form if you are interested or call us at 631-261-2485 x110.   We also need Substitute Teachers and Hall Monitors.

Tuition Fees

One Child:    $225.00     Two Children:   $335.00     Three or More Children:   $400.00

                   Tuition fee must be received with registration form

  Sacramental Fees for 2^nd &  8^th Grade    (may be paid later in the year)

     2^nd Grade - Communion Fee:   $100.00           8^th Grade - Confirmation Fee:  $150.00
